We are looking for sponsorship

To the Sponsorship and Partnerships Team,

We are writing to invite your company to become the principal vehicle partner for “Ubuntu Across Southern Africa”, a seven-week overland conservation and storytelling expedition taking place across Southern Africa in August and September 2027.

This journey will be undertaken by two women in their sixties, not as tourists, but as advocates, storytellers, and ambassadors for conservation, wildlife protection, rural communities, and the positive stories of Africa.

Our expedition is inspired by the spirit of Ubuntu – “I am because we are.”

Through this journey, we aim to raise awareness and funds for conservation organisations and community projects across Southern Africa while changing perceptions of Africa by sharing stories of resilience, wildlife, beauty, culture, innovation, and hope.

About the Expedition

The journey will cover approximately 7,500 km over seven weeks, circumnavigating Southern Africa:

  • Starting in Cape Town
  • Travelling north along the west coast through Namibia
  • Continuing through Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Mozambique
  • Returning along South Africa’s east coast back to Cape Town

The route includes remote areas, gravel roads, desert terrain, wildlife regions, and sand tracks, requiring a capable 4x4 off-road vehicle designed for long-distance expedition travel.

Notable destinations include:

  • Fish River Canyon
  • Richtersveld National Park
  • Sossusvlei
  • Etosha National Park
  • Chobe National Park
  • Victoria Falls
  • Great Zimbabwe

Conservation and Community Focus

Several conservation organisations have already expressed interest in partnering with us, including Save the Rhino International, with additional projects focused on:

  • Rhino conservation
  • Pangolin protection
  • Vulture awareness
  • Penguin conservation
  • Cheetah protection
  • Rural schools
  • Water accessibility projects

Our audience will be invited to choose which causes resonate most with them and support these initiatives directly during the expedition.

At the conclusion of the journey, we hope to create an additional legacy by allowing our audience to vote on which conservation or community initiative should receive the expedition vehicle as a charitable donation.

Media and Promotional Reach

The expedition will be documented extensively through:

  • YouTube content (minimum two episodes per week)
  • Social media updates and live reporting
  • Blogs and written features
  • Magazine articles and interviews
  • A future book documenting the expedition and conservation work encountered along the route

Your vehicle would become the featured expedition platform and appear throughout all visual content, promotional material, interviews, articles, and future publications.

This partnership offers a unique story:

Two experienced women over sixty driving across Southern Africa to raise awareness and support for conservation and community initiatives while demonstrating the durability, capability, and reliability of your off-road vehicle.

Why We Believe We Are Qualified

This expedition is built on extensive African overland driving experience.

One of us previously completed an 11,000 km expedition from the region of Mount Kilimanjaro to Cape Town and back again in 2010, travelling through Tanzania, Zambia, Botswana, South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Malawi with a teenage daughter.

Additional experience includes many years living and driving extensively throughout Botswana and Namibia, including repeated overland routes to and from Cape Town.

Background material and previous work include:

We also operate established YouTube channels with highly engaged audiences:

  • Cindy Vine Portugal – documenting the restoration of an abandoned farm in Portugal after approximately seventy years of neglect
  • Solo 50 Plus Adventures – adventure and travel storytelling

Sponsorship Request

We respectfully request consideration for sponsorship of an expedition-capable off-road vehicle suitable for:

  • Long-distance overland travel
  • Gravel roads and sand driving
  • Remote terrain access
  • Cross-border expedition conditions
  • Filming equipment transport and camping logistics where required

We are open to discussing:

  • Full vehicle sponsorship
  • Long-term vehicle loan arrangements
  • Co-branding opportunities
  • Joint conservation campaigns
  • Media collaborations
  • Charity legacy initiatives connected to the vehicle after the expedition

We believe this partnership would generate significant positive exposure for your brand while aligning your company with conservation, community impact, women’s adventure travel, and meaningful storytelling.

Closing

Planning for the expedition is beginning now to allow adequate time for route preparation, partnerships, filming logistics, conservation coordination, and promotional activities.

We would be honoured to discuss this proposal further and explore how we might build a meaningful partnership together.

Thank you for considering becoming part of Ubuntu Across Southern Africa.

Together, we can help tell a different story about Africa — one rooted in hope, conservation, resilience, community, and Ubuntu.

Yours faithfully,

Cindy

Other  Sponsors Needed

We are actively looking for other sponsorship, camping gear (not tents), fuel, accommodation along the way, water filters. Basically, anything we can use and showcase on this trip. We will make at least 2 or more videos that showcase any product we've been sponsored. We'll also share them on Social Media.

Final Give-back

At the end of the trip we are going to get our YouTube subscribers to vote to choose which charity/organisation we've highlighted during the trip, to donate the sponsored vehicle and other sponsored items to. Everything we've been sponsored will be going to the organisation that really needs it to be able to continue making a great difference.
