As I have the potential itinerary worked out, now is the time to work out a budget and do some costings. Because I'm starting the planning and preparations a year in advance, that gives me some time to spread out the initial pre-trip expenses. I also have to work out how much money for the actual trip. Work out costs like fuel, accommodation, food, park entrances, border crossings, etc. That is quite a daunting prospect, but it needs to be done.
Securing a vehicle remains a priority. I've reached out to different car manufacturers, but other than Suzuki who said they are already booked up for mext year, they others just ghost me, which I think is a little rude. If I buy a vehicle for the trip, I won't be in a position to donate it to one of the charities afterwards, and that is something I really want to do. I do have some ideas, but we'll see.
Now I have to continue doing research and working out costs. Come hell or highwater, this trip is going to take place and conservation organisations and charities will benefit. I am absolutely committed to this.
